Description
UMBC's 3rd Annual Pride Week
This year's theme: Power in Queer Joy
Sex in the Dark: Queer joy will follow a panel and trivia format, where the Peer Health Educator will run fun trivia games and panelist will provide medical insights and answer student questions in an engaging and approachable way. The discussion will focus on reproductive health, STI prevention, communication in relationships, and STI testing, with an emphasis on topics relevant to LGBTQ+ individuals. We’ll cover safer sex practices (including protection during fingering, oral sex, and sex toy use), how to talk about sexual health with partners, and the importance of regular STI screenings. Our goal is to provide students with accurate, inclusive, and judgment-free information to support their well-being.
For any questions, contact Darcie Adams at dadams4@umbc.edu (Graduate Assistant for the Gathering Space) or Angelina Jenkins at arjenkin@umbc.edu (Assistant Director for the Mosaic).
This event is open for full participation by all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or any other protected category under applicable federal law, state law, and the University's nondiscrimination policy.
