Description

Celebrate Día de Los Muertos with The Mosaic Center and the Women's, Gender, and Equity Center!

El dia de los muertos is a traditional Mexican holiday spread over several days (typically November 1st & 2nd) that honors and celebrates the lives of deceased relatives. Through the use of ofrendas, marigolds, and a festive spirit, the remembered dead are welcomed back to the land of the living for a few nights each year.

Join us for two collaborative activities as we prepare our community ofrenda (altar)!

Activity 1: Catrina Doll Making & Reflection

Location: Women's, Gender, and Equity Center (WGEC) (The Commons, 004)

Activity: Stop by the WGEC to make and decorate Catrina dolls. This is a reflective space where you can prepare your creation to be placed on the main ofrenda in The Mosaic Center. Snacks and candy will be provided.

Activity 2: Memorial Card Creation & Ofrenda

Location: The Mosaic Center (The Commons, 2B23)

Activity: Visit The Mosaic Center to create personalized memorial cards and hang them in our marigold strands on the ofrenda. Enjoy drinks and candy.

We look forward to honoring and celebrating with you!
