If you are interested in the Fraternal experience, we are optimistic that one of the UMBC chapters will offer the membership experience you desire. However, if you are committed to an organization that is not currently recognized at UMBC you can pursue the possibility of bringing that organization to UMBC. The expansion policy guides the process of bringing new organizations to UMBC and takes into account currently available resources and the feasibility of starting a healthy, sustainable chapter. The Coordinator for Fraternities & Sororities may also be able to connect you to the appropriate volunteers in the organization who can explain alternative membership options such as joining through a graduate or alumni chapter after attending UMBC.
